Nappy Liners
Frequently Asked Questions
Nappy liners are thin sheets placed on top of a reusable nappy to catch solid poo at change time. They are designed to make it easier to remove waste from the nappy, reduce staining and help keep your baby's skin dry between changes.
Disposable nappy liners are plant-based, single-use sheets that are binned after each change. Reusable nappy liners are soft fleece sheets that are washed with your nappies and used again. Both catch poo and protect your nappy from staining, so the choice comes down to convenience and personal preference.
Nappy liners are not essential, but most parents find them very useful. They are particularly helpful once weaning begins and your baby's poo becomes more solid, as they make clean-up at change time much faster and keep your nappies in better condition.
Messless nappy liners are not flushable and should be placed in your general waste bin after use. Tipping the solid contents into the toilet first is fine, but the liner itself should be binned.
Reusable nappy liners are easy to wash at 40°C alongside your nappies using a non-biological detergent. Avoid fabric softener as it can reduce how well the liner wicks moisture. Air dry away from direct heat, and they're ready to use again straight away.
