Materials

The core of this nappy is made from absorbent microfibre fabric. This all-in-one nappy features a stiched-in absorbent stay-dry layer which feels soft on the skin and helps to keep your baby dry. The outer layer of the nappy is water-resistant polyester fabric which has been laminated on the inside surface to keep liquid locked in.
Polyester fibres have been used throughout this nappy and were chosen due to their fast-drying properties. Whilst polyester is associated with high energy and water consumption, the quick drying time means lower energy consumption throughout its use - better for our planet and cheaper for you!

FABRIC COMPOSITIONS:

100% polyester laminated to polyurethane

How easy it is to use reusable nappies?

      +

Reusable nappies really aren’t too different from single-use nappies (apart from all the great features of course) and if you follow a few of our simple steps, you’ll be fitting them like a pro before you know it!

    • 2

      Step by step basics

      +

First, adjust the poppers to get the right fit for your baby. Doing this before you change your wriggly baby will make things a lot easier. If you’re using liners (either Messless or Revolutionary Reusable), place one in the centre of the nappy. Next, lay your baby down on the open nappy and pull the front up, securing in place by using the adjustable tabs. Check that the boosters and fabric are all tucked inside and that the elastic edge sits in the leg line. For a comfortable fit you should be able to slide two fingers easily into the waistband at the front.

    • 3

How often do I need to change the nappy?

      +

Just like all nappies, you'll need to check and change them every 2 - 4 hours throughout the day. At night-time, combine boosters if required for a peaceful night's sleep. Our flexi booster is made from super-absorbent hemp and is extra long and designed to be folded for additional absorbency where needed (great for front sleepers).

    • 4

Can I use your miosolo nappies from newborn?

      +

The miosolo will fit your baby from around 3 months old depending on their size. If you are looking for a nappy that will fit your baby from newborn, you'll love our new Revolutionary Reusable nappy.

    • 5

How many nappies do I need?

      +

When your baby is young their nappy should be regularly checked and changed every 2-4 hours. You can store used nappies in your Stay at home wet bag for up to 3 days before washing. With this in mind, you'll need 20 nappies so that you have some to use while others are in the wash. Our Everything bundle comes complete with all 20 nappies plus a selection of accessories.

    • 6

What's the difference between liners and boosters?

      +

Liners are designed to make nappy changes a little easier by catching poo and helping you to remove it in a mess-free way. Add one liner on top of the nappy and when it's time to change, simply lift off the liner and dispose of the poo down the toilet. Replace with a new liner at every nappy change. We offer two options; Messless liners are disposable and made from plant-based materials and our Revolutionary Reusable liners can be washed with your nappies and reused again and again. Boosters are designed to add extra absorbency to your nappies. These are especially great for long periods such as overnight or if your baby is a heavy wetter. Before fitting the nappy, insert a booster into the pocket of your nappy. Find out more about boosters in our Fit Guide."

    • 7

How do I use the poppers?

      +

Get your poppers into the right position before each nappy change – it’s a lot easier when you don’t have a wriggly baby in the nappy. If you have a newborn baby you’ll need to use the bottom set of poppers, attaching them to the closing top set. Once your baby is a toddler you’ll probably have no need to use the poppers at all however the adjustable tabs at the front will allow you to alter the fit as their shape changes.

    • 1

Removing the poo (it’s really not a big deal)

      +

When it comes to changing your baby’s nappy, just open the nappy and remove any poo, tipping it into the toilet. Liners are really handy for this job and take the fuss out of this messy step. Our Messless liners can be thrown away after use whereas our Revolutionary Reusable liners can be set aside for the wash. If any poo gets onto the surface of the nappy, you may prefer to rinse it through to stop any staining.

    • 2

How do I clean poo off nappies?

      +

Newborn poos are runnier as their diet is liquid. During this time, you can rinse off the poo under running water. This can be done in the toilet bowl or at the sink. If you use the toilet, hold on to one corner of the nappy firmly and let the clean water wash away the poo. If you use your sink, be sure to clean the sink afterwards. Newborn poo doesn't need to be washed off before storing your dirty nappies until wash day, but it will help to reduce odours and staining. When wash day comes, don't overload your washing machine to allow your nappies to wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. 2 heaped tablespoons of Bright & mighty cleanser to your washing detergent drawer will add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours. When you start weaning your baby onto solid food, you'll notice their poo will change. At this stage, our Messless liners or Revolutionary Reusable liners will make cleaning your nappies quicker and easier. Both of these are designed to sit inside the nappy to catch solids and help reduce soiling.

How do you wash reusable nappies?

      +

Store your nappies for up to 3 days at most and when wash day arrives, empty the contents of your Stay at home wet bag into the washing machine drum. For an economical and planet-friendly wash, it’s best to always do full loads but make sure you don't overload your washing machine. Filling your machine to around ¾ full will ensure your nappies can wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. We recommend washing your nappies at 40°C (but no more than 60°C ) with non-biological laundry detergent. There's no need to use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your nappies. Add 3 tablespoons of Bright & mighty nappy cleanser to add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

    • 4

How do you dry reusable nappies?

      +

We recommend air drying your nappies either inside or outside whenever possible and away from direct heat. If necessary, our nappies can be tumble-dried on a low/cold setting.

    • 5

What do I need to do before the wash?

      +

When you take a used nappy off your baby, we recommend you pull out the stiched-in layer from the pocket and remove any boosters inserts from the nappy pocket before you store them.

    • 6

How should I store my nappies before wash day?

      +

In between washes, store your nappies for three days at most in your Stay at home wet bag. This can be positioned anywhere that is within reach of your change table. The wet bag can be sealed shut using a fold, roll and clip method however we recommend leaving the bag open if possible which will allow air to circulate and reduce odours.

    • 7

Do I need to pre-wash my nappy before washing?

      +

No. Pre-washing is not required if you follow our washing instructions carefully. Reducing the amount of time you use your machine is a great way to lower your carbon footprint and our nappies are designed for a simple and easy clean. However, if you do decide you need to run a pre-wash, select a short, cold wash cycle and half a scoop of detergent, and then store your nappies damp until you have enough nappies for a full wash.

Can I wash other items with my nappies?

      +

Absolutely! And this is a great way to ensure you are using your machine and energy as efficiently as possible.

    • 10

What temperature can I wash my nappies at?

      +

We recommend washing your nappies at 40°C with non-biological laundry detergent. Follow your machine manufacturer’s guide to find out the required dose for your machine. Do not use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your nappies.

    • 11

How can I make sure that my nappies are extra clean and hygenic?

      +

We recommend adding 3 tablespoons of our Bright & mighty nappy cleanser to your washing detergent drawer too. This will add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

    • 12

      Can I iron my nappies?

      +

No, please don't iron your nappies, as this can affect their performance.

    • 13

How do I do a strip wash?

      +

Simply soak your nappies in a hand hot solution of Bright & mighty nappy cleanser for at least 2 hours. Use 3 tablespoons of cleanser for every 4 litres of water. After soaking, wash your nappies in the washing machine as you normally would. We would recommend giving your nappies an additional rinse after your cycle to be sure all the cleanser has been removed.

    • 1

How do you use reusables nappies when out and about?

      +

When you head out for the day, pack your nappy bag with everything you need for your trip including enough nappies to get you through the day. When it comes to change-time, simply store your used nappies in your Out & about wet bag to keep them separate. When you get home you can transfer them into your Stay at home wet bag or pop them straight into the washing machine. Simple!

    • 2

Can I use reusable nappies on the maternity ward?

      +

We recommend confirming your plans with your hospital as they will have their own procedures and rules (just in case). Your midwife is also likely to be able to advise you. Make sure you have enough nappies for your hospital stay - probably around 8 nappies. Our Out & about wet bag is a handy storage solution for when you are away from home.

    • 1

      What are reusable nappies?

      +

Reusable nappies are nappies that you don't throw away. They are designed to be reused and then reloved and are made of super soft, high performance fabrics rather than plastic which can be found in single-use nappies. Reusable nappies are sometimes called 'cloth nappies' or 'washable nappies' but it all means the same thing.

    • 2

Should I wash the nappies before I use them?

      +

Yes, this will remove any loose fibres and increases the absorbency ready for use. Before each wash, close the tabs on the diapers to protect the fabrics in the machine. Run a normal wash, use a non-bio detergent, and avoid using any fabric softener.

    • 3

Are reusable nappies really better for the environment?

      +

Yes. When washed responsibly and according to our care instructions, reusable nappies stop 5000 single-use nappies from being thrown away and produce 25% less CO2.

    • 4

How well do reusable nappies perform?

      +

The first thing a nappy has to do is perform and our nappies do just that. Reusable nappies use multiple layers of super-absorbent fabric for ultimate leak protection. Any parent will tell you, that you can experience a leak in every type of nappy now and again! But the key is getting the right fit for your baby and ensuring you've prepped your nappy with the absorbency level you require.

    • 5

Why are reusable nappies better for my baby's skin?

      +

Our Revolutionary Reusable nappies are made from super-absorbent fabric rather than chemical gels that can be found in single-use nappies. Our fabrics and materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified which means they are free from nasties which will help with skin irritation and reduce the chance of nappy rash.

    • 6

How do reusable nappies help me save money?

      +

You can make huge savings by using reusable nappies instead of single-use nappies - even when you take into account the washing costs. This saving will get even bigger when you use your nappy stash on a second child too.

Great

Brilliant cloth nappy and the one I think my husband will buy in to! I also think these will also be great for nursery. I’ve bought many of these, they look cool and after a few washes they have brilliant absorbency. The Velcro washes well and I think will stand the test of time.

Nice nappies

I love these nappies, they last through the night with extra booster. It is easy to clean up poo with the use of liners, so there is no mess left behind.

I love the designs, functionality and easy maintenance. However I find them to be very bulky. I have just ordered the “ Revolutionary nappies” and hope those are better (bulkiness), and more so they are on sale.

Bambino all the way.

A great all in one. Love love love

We started out with the starter bundle and then came back to buy a couple more once we’d got in the swing of things. The nappies are fab - we’re forever being complimented on the great patterns and people are shocked at how easy reusables are. I’m slowly converting people! With all the patterns it really highlights how quickly you go through nappies and how many disposables you’re saving each day! We used them from about 6 weeks onward and couldn’t be happier. Way less of a chore than I expected, in fact I love the routine! Nothing better than having a full drawer of fresh nappies to chose from.

I was skeptical at first but these nappies are brilliant. They hold a fair amount of wee and when boosted go a bit longer. They have held in a couple of poonamis already and wash really well. No poonami stains. They dry fast and are easy to care for. They are also budget friendly and I got mine during a sale which made them cheaper. All in all I am impressed with the quality, efficiency and function of these nappies.

Perfect purchase

I have used these nappies for the last seven weeks, starting from when my baby was a few days old. The poppers are very secure and great to adjust the size of the nappy. The nappies are washing up really well and I have found these style nappies to be much less fuss than the separate covers and liners. I realised I needed more nappies than I thought, 3 batches really (1 for wearing, 1 for washing/drying and 1 waiting to be washed), so I have just purchased some more. Some clothes tend to be tighter because of the bulk of the nappy, however this is not a problem.
